Match Report
Langley Park School for Boys Boys-U12A vs  Ravens Wood School
On: Friday, 29 Sep 2017
Venue: at Home

The U12A Team took on Ravens Wood on Friday in an anticipated fixture against a local team. It was the boys first experience of playing on the main pitch and we started well. Some early pressure resulted in a try for Marcus Williams as he bustled through 3 tackles to score. The good Langley play continued with an excellent phase of play leading to captain Alex Sharpe-McGrail scoring in the corner with his first Langley Try. Following this, the game settled and Ravens Wood found their way back into it with a breakaway try. Langley were rocked and Ravens Wood scored again with two quick tries in succession and played some fine rugby of their own. Langley needed half-time badly at this point with Ravens Wood ending the half on top with the score Langley 10-15 Ravens Wood.

The second half started as the first finished, Ravens Wood the better side and they scored two more tries and enjoyed good spells of rugby. Langley's boisterous crowd started to make some noise as the boys were roared on attacking the sports centre with the time past 3pm. Ben Clarkson scored a try of the season contender with a run that started on the far left, he darted in-field evading tackles and raced away from the Ravens Wood defence. The final 10 minutes were evenly contested with Langley more than holding their own against a Ravens Wood side who played very well it must be said. Alex Sharpe-McGrail had a try chalked off for a knock-on two yards from the line which would have made the final 5 minutes very interesting.

The score finished Langley 15-30 Ravens Wood. A great experience for the boys to play their first game on the main pitch. It was great to see how much they cared in defeat and will become stronger for it. They will learn a lot from this and move forward getting better with each game. Noteable performances from Auguste Briolay, Ben Clarkson and Marcus Williams.
