U15A Indoor Hockey

LPSB 7 def TS 3

Period 1
A positive start to the year with a victory over rivals Trinity School. A fast start for Langley put pressure on Trinity early. This allowed for a quick goal and put Langley in front. Trinity found some structure and was able to score two great goals from Penalty Corners.

Period 2
Mr Mina gave the boys three task. Capitalise on Trinity's mistakes, get ahead once we gain back possession and stay low and force Trinity to make tough passes. These proved to be vital in the Langley comeback, allowing the team to score three unanswered goals. Some decisions from the umpire during this period saw some unhappy Langley players. This could have resulted in Trinity scoring or players receiving cards.

Period 3
The team agreed at the second break that, getting the win was more important than trying to change the umpires decision. The boys took charge with two new tasks. Strikers were to get high in the circle and get rebounds or deflections and the press & marking should be man-to-man, ensuring that Trinity had to risk passes to get out of defence. Again this was vital to ensure that Langley held the lead. Two great team goals allowed Langley to stretch the lead from 4 - 2 to 6 - 2. One very well constructed goal from Trinity at the end from a penalty corner, did not phase Langley who persisted on the press and the team orders, which allowed them to put one last goal in the net before the final whistle.

Overall a great opportunity to impress new Coach, Mr Mina and to allow the team to get a great a head start before the Hockey Term in 2018.
